R038 - The Rittmanic-Bailey Law Enforcement Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded annually to worthy and needy students at Olivet, with preference given to students with a minimum 2.50 GPA who plan to study Law Enforcement and/or Criminal Justice.
Two scholarships will be awarded annually at $6,000 each until the standard distribution from investment earnings exceeds this amount.
Students are required to complete a 400-word essay based on: “What is your WHY for wanting to study Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice? What draws you to this profession?
Essay submissions will be reviewed by faculty in the Criminal Justice Department. Faculty will recommend scholarship recipients to the Foundation based on the quality of the essay and the student’s demonstrated commitment to the field, contingent upon verified financial need.
The Institution agrees to provide the designated scholarship contact(s) with copies of the submitted scholarship application essays for review. The scholarship contact(s) may communicate non-binding preferences or feedback regarding recipients to the Institution; however, final award decisions shall remain solely with the Institution and will be made in accordance with institutional policies and applicable law. Such preferences shall be advisory in nature and shall not obligate the Institution to select or exclude any applicant.
